ALMA L. RIELLO SCHOLARSHIP 2010
The Northern Berkshire Community Television Corporation honors
the memory of Alma Louise Mary Riello through its annual high school
scholarship. There are five scholarships available to local students.
Riello was an early supporter of public access, an enthusiastic
community leader, and founding member of the Board of Directors of
Northern Berkshire Community Television. She gave of her time, talent,
and financial resources to the Studio. She was the producer of the very
popular Bone Soup, a show focusing on sharing local information
and cultural activities. Riello was also well-known in the community as
an actress. She was heavily involved in local theater, both as a
performer and as a writer, and she could often be found in costume
portraying Susan B. Anthony. Riello's talents were highly varied, she
was the first female fork lift operator for General Electric and she
was a culinary artist specializing in panoramic sugar Easter eggs and
wedding cakes.
